Released in 2014. Skaltros expands its unique black metal mythology with Kitsaultsaga, the outfit's 9th album (and fourth double album) in four years. Kitsaultsaga surrounds its listeners in cocoons of numbing, time-erasing Wagnerian ambient darkness, alternated with expansive, frozen masterworks of black metal power. Combining soaring guitar melodies, throat-torn howls, wicked aggression, and a Lovecraftian detail to lyrics, Skaltros provides an unmatched black metal experience of depth and chilling sincerity. Influences include black metal titans Darkthrone, Taake, Burzum, and Marduk, as well as symbolist poets and composers.

Skaltros is one-man black metal outfit based on Revillagigedo island, Alaska. Nukshean, the band's sole member, builds all guitars and effects used on the album.

The mix of raw, brutal rage with beautiful melodies reminds me of fellow Native black metaler Ifernach, but obviously Ushangvagush is very much its own wonderfully twisted creature. Across the ravaged landscape a bleak wind blows, roaring with the voice of the place’s violated Manidou. He is coming for the leech-rot-larval-white settlers with heavy red fists, blazing yellow cat-eyes, and antlers made from the bones of those unjustly slaughtered.
